So youre from out of town?

First off, welcome to town! I have to admit, back when I was touring and Waco popped up on the route sheet, “thrilled” wasn’t exactly the first word that came to mind. But after living here for the past few years, I’ve learned that I couldn’t have been more wrong. Waco is incredible. I love it here, and I think you will too.

If you’re looking for things to do, places to go, or somewhere great to eat while you’re visiting, here are a few of my personal recommendations. None of these places sponsor The Songwriter Night. They are just some of my favorite spots in town.

Pizza and Wings:
Shorty’s. Obviously. We approached Shorty’s for a reason. It is really good food. So fun fact, when my family and I first moved here (that weird space between the moving truck pulling in the drive way, getting unpacked, and getting groceries), we lived off of Shorty’s Pizza.
